Region 165 Guidelines
WE ARE A KIDS ZONE REGION
Guidelines For 2008/2009 Season
1. No sign ups after October 1st without the Regional Commissioner’s approval.
2. Mandatory Cleats for all age groups
3. Mandatory Shin Guards in all games and at all practices-NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!
4. Minimum of eight (8) players to begin a game (11V11) - Minimum of seven (7) players to begin a game (9V9) -Minimum of five (5) players to begin a game (7V7). Games must be terminated if, for any reason, number of players drops to 7 (11V11) or six (7V7),or two (3V3) or (4V4), or three in (5V5).
5. Long pants must be tucked into socks when worn during inclement weather (Referee’s discretion). If a hooded sweatshirt is worn under jersey, the hood MUST be tucked into jersey, no exceptions.
6. Sliding shorts may be worn during the Fall season, provided they are of the same primary color as the uniform shorts.
7. Executive Board to consist of Regional Commissioner, Coach Administrator, Referee Administrator, Treasurer, Safety Director, and Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA).
8. Disciplinary Board to consist of Assistant Regional Commissioner, Referee Administrator, Coach Administrator, and CVPA for all disciplinary actions, unless there is direct or indirect involvement by any of the above, at which time the Regional Commissioner will replace the person involved with another appointee.
9. First and Second place awards for U14, U12, and U10.(U8 & U6, No standings are kept.) All U8 & U6 participants receive a participation award. U19 & U16, over all standings in the Traveling League will determine awards. NOTE: If your team in U10 Through U19 finishes in the standings in a place that is eligible for “Down the Hill Play-Offs”, and you do not follow through once a commitment has been made, there will be a mandatory one year suspension from coaching in AYSO Region 165.
10. All players in attendance at U14, U16, and U19 games must play at least ½ of the regularly scheduled game time. If they arrive after the second half has begun, they are required to play one quarter. In U6, U8, U10 and U12, all players are required to play a minimum of 3 quarters of each game. In the event that this cannot be accomplished because of the number of players on the roster, the coach must keep track of the player (s) who only played two quarters, and ensure that those player (s) play three quarters the following game. No player shall play all four quarters until everyone has played three quarters.
11. The following number of players on the roster and on the field will apply to all games played during the Fall season in Region 165:
U6-3 players on field (NO KEEPERS) - 5 players on roster
U8- 5 players on field (NO KEEPERS)- 8 players on roster
U10 - 7 players on field - 9 players on rosters
U12 - 9 players of field - 12 players on roster.
U14 through U19 will play with 11 players on the field and the prescribed number of players on the roster.
NOTE: Players can play on only ONE League team at a time. Players standing on the side lines cannot be recruited to play on another team.
12. If a player is ejected (Red Carded) or a coach is ejected for any reason, they will be automatically suspended from the next regularly scheduled game. It will be the Regional Commissioner’s Responsibility to ensure that the player is in attendance, but does not participate. The coach may not attend the next regularly scheduled game. Three yellow cards during the season constitutes a red card, and the same discipline listed above will apply. Upon receipt of a second red card during the season, the player may be suspended for the remainder of the season or longer. The coach, upon receipt of a second ejection during the season, will be faced with a disciplinary board hearing.
13. Any regular season game that is canceled due to weather reasons will only be made up if it is necessary for point standings. If a game is called on Saturday because of weather, the following Saturday’s games will be the ones scheduled for that date.
14. Any division that has an odd number of teams will have a game scheduled for the last day of the season. These games will be played only if they are necessary for point standings. The games WILL NOT be played if all teams in the division have the same number of played games for the season.
15. In the event of a tie between two or more teams at the end of the regular season which CANNOT be broken by play-off games, the following method will be used to break the tie (s):
1. Head to Head play between teams.
2. Most referee points accumulated during the season
3. Coin Toss
16. No partaking of any alcoholic beverages or Tobacco products is permitted on Rim of the World school district property. This includes all athletic fields.
17. No jewelry of any kind, (Earrings, Necklaces, Rings, Plastic or Metal Hair Barrettes), will be allowed in any AYSO Region 165 game.
18. No protests of any nature will be allowed.
19. All adult participants in AYSO Region 165 will adhere to the Kid Zone Parent Pledge or will be subject to a disciplinary hearing to be scheduled by the Regional Commissioner.
20. NO NAMES OF PLAYERS OR SPONSORS ARE ALLOWED ON THE AYSO ISSUED UNIFORMS. THESE UNIFORMS ARE THE PROPERTY OF AYSO, AND THEY DO NOT ALLOW ANY PLAYER'S NAMES ON THE UNIFORMS.
21. Anything that is not covered by these guidelines will automatically revert to the Standard Regional Guidelines of the American Youth Soccer Organization and/or Section One guidelines.
